I was thinks about getting a custom boat cover to use when towing my boat. Does anyone have any recommendations on a brand or if they are worth the money. I have heard complaints about them wearing down the gelcoat due to the vibrations while driving down the road, has anyone else experienced this?

Don't know about wearing down the gel coat, but that seems logical. On the other hand, I do think they can affect the gas mileage of your tow vehicle. I read an article in which Mike Iaconelli said while towing he only covers his in severe weather.
