You guys helped me before and I say "THANK YOU" very much.

Please help again.

I currently have a 88 Bass Tracker 17' er... I need a newer boat that is bigger but can still go shallow and can take a beating against stumps, rocks or debris like my Tracker has.

I found this for sale..
"2003 17' xpress w/ 90 horsepower Yamaha for sale. $7000, well below bluebook. The model is H51. The boat is 17'3" long."

It seems to be about a foot wider than my boat which may be big enough. How does this boat compare to a Bass Tracker? Are they made the same or different? One better quality?

It looks like the Xpress will go real shallow, am I right in that thought?

Thank you for any information you can give. If you ever owned one please let me know the good and bads of it.

Xpress makes a great boat. I've sold both Xpress and Tracker, so have a ticket on the clue bus.

Initial quality goes to Xpress, since it's a used boat, dealer issues don't matter. Xpress is kinda goofy to deal with at the factory, Tracker is just a maze nightmare without a dealer backing you up.

The 70 Yamaha is a workhorse motor, no issues whatsoever with it.

If it hasn't had the snot beat out of it, get all over it.

I would ck the gauge of the boat ...100 gauge or 125...

ck the bottom...if you are a stump jumper 125 is what youre looking for ...

I bought the one i got now 1998 they will not transfer the warnty on the hull ...

you may ask that quetion....they may sence it's new'r...

But i'm a xpress man all the way ...xd21 with 225 merc...

if you want to really step up, my buddy has a 21' with a 115hp Yamaha 4 stroke. motor starts every time. He has trolling motor, graphs and trailer. It would be quite a bit more than you are looking at (i believe it is around $16k).

Bet your boat is wide than a H51. Bottom is only 48.25 inches wide.
