I don't feel too bad as I read Tommy Law's report and he didn't do much better. To my credit, I only had 3 hrs to fish at noon. Gota have some excuse. Yesterday was the first time going to Falcon since May. I could not believe how low the lake was. It didn't look anything like it did when we were here this spring. 22' low is a whole different world. I caught my very first fish in Jan, a 6 lb'er, out of Falcon off the top edge of the hump in this picture. Yes the one up there in the air. My honey hole is high and dry too. Guess I've got to learn how to fish this lake all over. Oh well, sure going to be fun trying.

The fishing has been very challenging to say the least. A few days last week I would rate the fishing with a "1" on the 1-10 scale. The later part of the week the fishing was at a 4. I could see how someone could easily get skunked out there lately. Some days we literally went 3-4 hours without a fish. This was something I have never seen before. I still managed (4) 8's last week and about 20-40 fish a day. The lake fished poorly last week.

It's getting time to go farther South.

Those were the 20 fish days and when you are your partner are throwing a DD22 for 12 hours a day and only come up with 10 bites each, that is extremely poor for down there.

why would you continue throwing something they are not eating?

The one good thing I did find was, with all this structure and cover exposed, I'm taking more than my camera phone next time. I will know some real honey holes when the water comes back up. I may just devote a whole afternoon to taking pictures. I'm sure glad I went yesterday as the wind is trying to turn my 5th wheel over here in Weslaco today.

This last spring I was averaging 50 to 100, (edited because I only had about 5 or 6 100 bass days out of the 20 days I fished last spring), bass a day. I had to have bicep muscle surgery in Sept. because I tore it on a 9.8 lb'er in May. Yes I am fat and out of shape for those of you wondering. Let me tell you, I went home more then once last year and iced my shoulders because of all the fish we caught. Best pain I've ever experienced.

They had 31 pounds the first day and 2 fish the last day...
