Just curious what your best 5 fish limit ever is on the sabine river around the orange deweyville area I know there are not many on here who fish it. Mine was 2 summers ago I had 5 fish that would have went about 13 lbs on a zarra puppy. I have had very few days of 5 fish stringers for the amount of time I have spent on the water lol

I have had some 12 lb days before. Not recently, although I did snag a 4.6 last Tuesday

lol yea I caught a 5 two weeks ago north of I10 but bring some ropes you have to climb a small dam to get to him lol. I have some spros but have not fished them at all in the river what colors work well for you? Lately my best bait has been a DOA shrimp due to the amount of shrimp that have been in the bayou.

I am good with the black and green. Do you have the baits modified to make them walk differently or just the normal bobbing motion they have?

my best day i had right at 14lbs, i know my partner has had some 17lb days a few years ago. He also caught a 9lber 5 or 6 years ago out there. my personal best from there is a 6lb. but together we probably have 10-15 fish over 5lbs from the sabine. but thats with many, many years of fishing it.

I fished the sabine darn near every weekend when I was a kid until I went off to college. From the sounds of it the fishing has really taken a turn for the worse. We absolutely killed the fish most all the time with a solid limit of keepers usually. I used to fish alot around square lake/twin bridges, aligator cut, and the first logging cut up towards the bridge. The main bluebird cut was also great from the dock to across the river on both sides. Tequila ring worms, slugos, small spinner baits, tiny torpedos, and the old cajun frogs was the bulk of what we used back then. I miss that old river fishing!!!

almost always in the cuts and bayou's. This past summer until now has probably been the toughest year we've ever had. way to much saltwater. One of the things i always see is when guys fish the sabine, they think to downsize their baits because of mostly smaller fish. That's not always the case though.

I am guilty of that for sure what are some of your favorite baits? Like I said earlier I usually am throwing a DOA shrimp a Zara puppy a small craw worm a h&h spinner bait or a bandit square bill
