If you had the funds, and could go on a SLAB fest, keeping it here in Texas, not having a boat, but intend on using guide services, and quality, not quantity is the main objective. Where would you go, and what time of year. Mama is giving me the time and money next year as a Christmas present, but don't really know which lakes. I've fished Toledo bend, Cedar Creek, Lake Of The Pines and Granger, all with guides already, and have caught many of good fish. But I would like the really GOOD! fish.

If I could afford it, I would quit my job and hire Chuck Rollins for a full year of fishing and fish as many of the lakes in Texas as we could. Man that would be fun. CW

Lake Palestine has some HOGS in it. Clay can put you on some SLABS www.eppersonguideservice.com903-681-6044 Chuck Rollins and the www.bigcrappie.com team can put you on some slabs @ C.C. as well. Cliff Spindle can put you on some fish as well. http://spindleguideservice.com/We have the privilege of having several top quality guides here on Tff, i am sure others will chime in....

You can't go wrong with either of those guides mentioned (and many that weren't mentioned). Because Palestine has gotten the least amount of fishin pressure, and is the 'newest' hot crappie lake on the TFF, I would invite Chuck and Cliff to join you and Clay for a little gentlemen's fishin tourney. To make it an even number, me and Stucky might have to tag along. DW ain't no gentleman, but he can come along and potlick.

Without a doubt! Either early February for females fat with eggs or August-September-October for just Fat Females! Give Clay a call and he can tell you the very best time for "wall-hanger's"

I don't think 'ol DW fishes anymore let alone come on the TFF. As far as big crappie lakes I would go with Chuck on CC and Clay on Palestine like mentioned above. Also Ray Roberts with Cliff at certain times of the year can catch you some Barn Doors too.

Thanks guys, seems my website is down due to a credit card mix up but my number is still the same 903-681-6004. Palestine is low like all Texas lakes but it is full of big BIG crappie. As many are finding out, Palestine is no joke when the wind gets up over 12 mph so it makes the winter time a coin toss. Big fish can be caught every day of the year but my favorite months are October and late Feb-early June. Here are a couple examples of what Palestine holds. Dub and Stucky that pic of ol DW is for you two, y'all should print it off and have it blown up and maybe Darrell will sign it for y'all so you can hang it on the wall that way both of y'all can say you have a couple 2# crappie hung on the wall LOL.

Well, sounds like Palestine is my #1 choice, now I need at least 2 more. Hopefully with no more than 3 hr. drive of one another.
