I've got my motor resting on my transom saver but now it won't tilt up so I can release the transom saver. No motor noise when I push any of the buttons to raise the motor. However, I do get a motor noise when I hit the button to lower the motor. Someone please tell me this is an easy inexpensive problem.

Did you charge the battery and try again? It's inexpensive if that's the case.

Switch the relays on the back of the motor, if it works after that then there's yer problem. In-expensive fix.

Yes, the batteries are good and charged. The motor is a 115 Merc, 1992 model. Owned the rig since 1994 and never a problem.

I wonder if there's a mercury repair manual online somewhere. It sure would be helpful. I'm one of those people who doesn't have a high mechanical aptitude. I know the basics but I can do better if I had an illustration to go by. Does anybody know of any manuals or illustrations online? Thanks.

One of the best web sites I have found on the net is this one.
http://www.marinemechanic.com/Workhorse/index.htm

They have a LOT of boat and motor info.

A bad day fishin' is still better than work!
That's BOATMAN1 with the blue hat on! BUT the BOAT is fake!

Thanks for all your responses. I'll check these out and hopefully learn something and, in the process save some money.

CORKY1, I encontered a similar problem and fixed it with 4 men's help.
Here's the story. Power tilt did not response after this morning's fishing, all we (me and 2 friends) heard was a click when I pressed DOWN and nothing for UP. I had to drag the boat off the ramp with a little bit of scraching on the ground.
We checked everything and two fellow fishermen helped to open the cover of the engine.Finnally we figured out resetting a Circuit Breaker (the red-labeled box on the top-left) fixed the problem. 125HP force,FYI. Hope it helps.
