So I was excited about trying these out along with my first ever dropshot setup....after a few fish and 2 hrs later I noticed that the fish I was setting the hook on were coming unbuttoned. I checked my hook and the tip had rolled. Re-tied again and same thing after a few fish....Is this normal for drop shot hooks or are the vmc's junk? Not looking for opinions but truth. BTW,I have now started to make my own version using owner hooks. I really like the design of the spinshot. Thanks!

I would be interested in your version with the Owner Hooks. You gonna sell them? Seems like the review I have read on the Spinshot were not favorable on Tackle Warehouse.

I would say that you hit a bone or something hard in their mouth to do that. That is the very reason that I quit using Gamakatsu and switched to Owner and I still use X Point for some applications.

We can make that design with any dropshot hook. It eliminates the swivel and that is what drew our attention to it. Headed out Thursday and will test our version of an owner spinshot. I'll let u know Brian.

I used the VMC's for the first time last weekend at my neighborhood pond just to test them out. After catching a few dinks (5 or 6), nothing more than 2 lbs, I noticed the swivel part starting to weaken and bend. It seems like the swivel part is a bit undersized and weak for the hook (size 1). I had no problems with hooksets, but I think a 5 lbr or greater would probably bend this rig up pretty good. I guess I might have been setting the hook too hard? If I have to worry about that, I'll just go back to the 1/0 conventional Dropshot hooks I was using before.

Gander Mtn and Academy here in Tyler must be the last ones in the state to order the newest innovation on the MKT. Have gone to both last week looking for the spinshot rig and the tomato finesse worms and the said they didn't know when or if they would be getting any in the near future. BPS, too far to go to. Will plan to go during the CHRISTmas holidays.

The bending part as far as the wire itself is no big deal to me because I know that it will not break...just the fact that the tips roll to easily...wasn't sure if it was my batch or all of them in general. Gonna try out the owner down shots that I made and see how they work. Anyone else?
