Have an opportunity to buy an '01 189C with a Yamaha 90 on it. Boat's in impeccable shape. It's either this or a Bay Stealth with a Yamaha 115. Any thoughts, opinions, etc. on this boat?

I own a 189C with a Yamaha 115 stroke and am very happy with the boat. There are very few things i would like to have changed. one thing is in rough water the water from the live well will splash out. I fixed that with some weather stripping but i also heard of a fix by cutting down the drain tube a few inches inside and this will keep the water from filling up so high. I have had to replace the latches on a couple of storage boxes but i believe those were installed by the dealer. The best thing i like about the boat is that it will handle pretty rough water and still float real shallow. i take mine down to the lower Laguna Madre and can go almost anywhere those flats boats go. Oh yea i also have a hydraulic jack plate on the back...That is a must if your are going to go shallow

I just bought a 190C special with a Yamaha 115 4-Stroke. It is a really good boat and gives a dry ride. I highly recomend getting a Bluewave.

I've got a 220 Classic w/ a 200 HP Yamaha HPDI. Real solid boat, but I've spent a little time in a Bay Stealth and I really like that boat. Nothings really wrong with the Blue Wave, but I like the way Bay Stealth has designed a step-up to the bow and a few other small things mainly pertaining to it being a liner boat. I do much prefer the center console on my BW compared to the Bay Stealth and the fact that the President of BW called me when I sent them an email about a problem I was having with a fish finder (not caused by an issue with the boat).
I don't think you can go wrong either way w/ Blue Wave or Bay Stealth. If you want more info, feel free to shoot me an email.

Just bought a '97 Blue Wave MS 57 (Side Console) with a Johnson 115. Love the Layout of this boat. It has a huge Rod Locker, large livewell and Baitwell. It also has plenty of storage area. I have not had a chance to get out on the water because of 80 hr work weeks, but all I've heard is good things about Blue Wave boats....
