Nats, the easiest way to drill the holes is to start with a bit that is sharp. Not being a smart@$$, but you would be suprised how many people think their bits are sharp when they are not. I have always drilled ONE hole only. Get the bit size needed for the size of the bolt hole. It is too easy to get cockeyed with pilot holes so do it in one shot. When I start the hole, I go at a slow speed until I get "bite" then I jump up the speed til I am almost through. As you get close to drilling through the plexi slow back down a bit til you are through.
It doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, all that matters is that you beat the leprachaun.

Oh yeah, if you have an old soft plastic cutting board use it for a back board when frilling the holes.

Ranger shows using a wood bit and increasing the angle of the cutting edge. I would feel better using a regular metal bit. What type bit do you use?

I use a bit rated for plastics such as PVC, nats.

Thanks Buzzbait1, I will go to Lowe's and buy the proper bit. I have a duel consul 1980 Ranger Axtec. Need to drill 14 holes. Want to be careful not to crack the winsheilds. I will take my time and do it right.
