No where close when Monti is producing, plus I don't even know of you can put in on sandlin. Last time I heard Only Barefoot Bay was open and that was a month or so ago

It just seemed like everywhere I wanted to fish there already 5 boats there. It probably wouldn't have bugged me as much if I could have found a new spot but we only put 4 in the boat . I guess I just thought would have been better fishing. The last two times I have gone it seem like you could throw anything and they would bite. I guess ill give it another try in couple weeks

if you thought friday was crowded you would have hated fishing monticello in the 90's and early 2000's both parking lots would be packed all the way up the upper road. easily 75 boats on every weekend day.

i stayed on windy banks and there was not another boat near us for three hours on friday morning. then moving into smith creek very few boats were fishing windy banks either. we boated 2 unders, 30+ solid slots, and one over.

If you are coming from Stephenville I would consider Hubbard Creek or Squaw Creek for a power plant lake

Thanks guys for the input, it was my first time going to Monticello today, Aside from the 40 degree weather and 20+ mph winds everything went well! Not many boats on the water today...
Took me a minute to figure it out and didnt get to fish some of the areas i wanted to because i was unfamilar with the North end and all its stumps!

Here are a few photos

Went to Monticello with a friend today (Sunday) - there were 3 or 4 boats on the lake all day.

Caught several nice slot fish and quite a few fat unders. Windy, but fun none-the-less.
