I did not agree with your selections as they all favor the top fishermen in each division... Unless you have unlimited time to spend on the water most folks can not compete with these guys.
We used to fish Bass Champs; however, the payout does not go deep enough..... Top guy gets way to much..... Need to pay out 1 in 5 to spread the wealth.....

It's is the same theory in B.A.S.S or FLW why not just pay $500,000 for 1st? The current model has worked for BC and I believe the decline in participation is due to the economy. I expressed my views in the poll at least they are asking for input. I've been fishing BC for the past 2 years and enjoy the format and expressed my thoughts about the championship. I don't think the championship should be on a lake that was fished during the regular season. If they use the input to make the trail better, then they are doing their job to give you the best opportunity to fish for $20,000 for a minimal entry fee that is close to where you live. There are a ton of trails to fish, the choice is yours weather or not you choose to fish it.

Let me first say Bass Champs is one of the best run tournament trails that is out there. These guys run a great tournament.
To clarify on the poll, I currently fish these tournaments and they sent an email out to there tournament participant database to poll them, prior to this poll. So I think they are getting both opinions and doing their homework.
Keep up the good work BassChamps!

As stated earlier, I commend BC for this poll.
Since on the subject of payouts....What is the example payout for 150 fishermen? Will first place stay the same...?
It seems to me that if you post the "model" payout for 150 participants......the results from the poll might change considerably.
For example:
20,000 would stay the same for 1st but with many fewer participants than 250, the 2nd thru last in the money would be totally different.
That is really the problem isn't it? Its when you draw less fishermen than a full field(which is the norm rather than the exception it seems). The questions about payback were minimal(to non-existent) back when more fishermen were at the tournaments. The 20,000 for first is great when the field is full but maybe this "model" has become outdated with all the other tournaments and less people at each one.
Just an observation.

As long as there is enough suckers around this will work just fine.
I know my limits as I don't have the time or the resources to compete at this level with the likes of the folks who do...
The more that are paid 1 in 5 the more participation they will get...
For the record, I am not a liberal, nor would I vote that way.
Some of these guys could compete at a professional level...
I could not agree with you all more that BC (Jeff & Chad) puts on a great tournament... Their fish care is amazing to any trail out there including the pro circuits.

Good point BB. I wish we could draw more teams in the Central. I'm not really sure how they could do that though. We used to have 200 teams at each event but lately its been lacking. I guess additional trails combined with high gas prices are causing people to be a little tighter with their money nowadays.

Travis and Belton are killing the central because they are poor fisheries, period.

BB2FAN,
You may be on to something, why couldn't BC take an average of their actual entries per region and use that number as a base line i.e. 150 (as stated above). then build the payback model off of that, plus build in extra places payed for additional entries; the extra entries would just be gravy for the tournament, but you would keep the payback better at the top.
Just my opinion, and you know what they say about those......
