I was shown that it was bad. We could by-pass it with a wire to activate fuel pump. I hope that makes sense. I am not a mechanic.

Pump driver in tha ecu is bad. Not uncommon. Lots a folks will scream "don't do it" but there is a way to run tha fuel pump on a seperate circuit. Know several that have been runnin' that way for a VERY long time without any issues.......

before i do anything TLW i gotta check with the dsra. i would think i will run the fuel pump through a relay that get's power when the key is turned on, then to a seperate toggle switch, then power to the pump.
it's just a thought right now.
whatchya thinking? will it work?
p.s. i'm NO mechanic... can ya tell...lol

Relay yep. Toggle switch yep. But best ta use a lanyard "kill switch" between tha toggle and relay. Summit has a good selection of pump relays up to 50 amps. Around 50 bucks for tha kit. Makes for a nice, compact installation but there are other ways that racers do it that are just as effctive.
Oh yeah. Tha kill switch needs ta be "normally closed" in stead of tha typical kill switch (which ya still use) on most boats which is "normally open"...........would make for 1 lanyard.
I think someone makes a 2 pole KS, 1 NO and 1 NC contact nowdays but not for sure......

Sounds like your making it too complicated as the Ecu is powered through the ign switch. I would connect the fuel pump via a relay to the purple ecu power wire.

I have a good ecu with fuel pump circuit working just fine. It is for a 150 1999 model. Give me your old one and 350.00 and you can have this one that works. 281-312-9856.

That's a great deal..... p.s. You can get a universal kill switch with dual circuitry which allows it to be wired either closed or open circuit. Part # 420488-1 by Sea Dog via thru V&V marine wholesaler out of Ft. Worth.........

Thats a safety thing ya gotta have for most "tech" inspections for racing......Tha toggle is something extra he wants. Besides if ya gotta pull and/or tha kill switch gets pulled, ya don't want the pump to continue runnin'.....
