Like the idea of a kayak to hit the creeks only, as I have a bass boat for the big waters, however I want to know how seating works out for you guys.
I like the idea of a jon boat because it looks like seating would be more comfortable. I like sitting up to where my knees are bent and not so much straight in front of me... hope that makes sense.
Any input is appreciated.

Google these: Jackson Coosa and Cuda, Native Ultimate, Wilderness Systems Commander, Hobie Pro angler, Nucanoe Frontier.
All awesome looking designs, though I haven't paddled most of them. Lots of comfy seating options. Some of them have scuppers that drain water from the cockpit, most don't, so you're bilgin/spongin. Shorter yaks are lighter and more maneuverable for portaging over laydowns and such. If you're really just using it for smaller water, the stuff you've always thought "there's no way I could get into that stuff in my boat", then you need to seriously consider the smaller, lighter boats. Sometimes you need to get out and pull the boat up and over some logs. The pro angler is an incredible machine, but it ain't made for this. It's got a mirage drive that acts sorta like whale flukes to propel it. You're fishing mostly hands free, but it ain't the right kind of boat for this. Longer yaks are faster and track straighter. They're also heavier and harder to load/launch in certain places.
So much more to say, but it's a start. You'll hear this a bunch while looking at yaks: paddle all the ones you're interested in before buying. It's a lot easier said than done, but it's the truth. If you live in or near the metroplex, Mariner Sails carries all of the above. Give them a call and they can probably help you out. Great people, very knowledgeable. Best of luck.

Take a look at Diablo Paddlesports. They have seat options that sit up a bit higher than a regular kayak seat--the Larry seat. Nice boat, easy to paddle, and comfortable due to sitting higher in the boat.

All of the yaks mentioned are nice yaks that have very different hulls and will paddle completely different. Another yak I would mention would be the KC Kayaks K12.
The K12, both Diablos, the Coosa, and the Cuda have high/low seating positions that will offer you the opportunity to change the angle and position of your butt, feet, and legs..
However, no kayak offers the canoe like seat of a john boat. Even in the upper seating position of these yaks, your feet are still out in front of you. You can bend your legs up, but then your knees will be in your face, making it impossible to paddle or cast.
Go ahead and sit in a bunch, get a feel for them. We do free demos everyday we're open, and we have the Cuda, Coosa, Commander, Ultimate, K12, both Diablos, and the Native Mariner all available for demos.
 Free test drives, everyday!
