I've already read one post on this but just to clarify...it's best to fish between the sandbars correct? The sandbar is located right where the waves are breaking? Also, what is the best way to find a break in the sandbar?

There are sand bars all the way to the beach from way out. If you watch the surf it will break on the last three or four depending on the wind, tide, etc. The waves will break, settle down, and break again on each bar. A break or gap in a bar can be spotted by watching the breaking waves. There'll be a gap in the break if there is a gut running through the bar.

"between the sandbars"... well that depends. MrG gave accurate discriptions of where guts get pinched on the beach and force water out across the bars and guts... those are great places. Guts (areas between the sandbars) are good... fish will typically use the edge of the sandbar to drive bait against to trap them... they'll ambush from the gut to the sandbar and along the edge... think of it as ambush points. There are miles and miles of guts and sandbars though.. look for where the most bait is running and fish there... and keep your eyes open for slicks. good luck.. if you want to accelerate your saltwater fishing for specks and reds.. check out our site and DVD's... there are free clips on the site.. http://www.troutsupport.comall the DVD's come with money back guarantee's
