saw it in the paper.... awesome stuff right there! they have signs at twok not to remove any artifacts or fossils from lake bed per sabine river authority....

That is friggin' fascinating. Now I want to go hunt for stuff on the lake beds. Seriously. That captured my imagination in a big way.

I was fishing along the banks in Waco and cane across this old whiskey bottle.
I knew it was old cause I never seen half pints or federal law prohibits sale on a bottle before.

That is cool. I would clean it up, get a good cork and use that thing.

Go to arlington and look around the south end of the where the creek bed is. Most of it is above water now and that was the site of the Battle of Village Creek.

Best i have seen was in the SA river...i found a spot that was loaded with large pieces of petrified wood. I have found it before, but mostly it was small pieces. The ones i found were probably upwards of 50lbs and stood almost to my waist ( i am about 5'10''). I plan on going back when i am on my thanksgiving break and seeing what else i can find.

Went to grapevine dint catch Much but left with 2 14 k gold an one real old silver one my buddy left wit one an a necklace paid for a nice rod an a fishin trip
