I've found the owner Shakey heads to pretty good. Only problem was they aren't painted so I fixed that. Easy and fast. When you find a bait you like you stick with it. A little heat. A little dip. Some cure time with heat. Then pick your favorite bait and tie it on. Spike It Jig n coat is the powder and it's a clean process.

You're not curing them in your kitchen oven I hope! No way... out in the garage I have natural gas heater. It's great for this.

Thank you. I did some black and brown this time. Next time I'm gonna put some fleck on them. Appreciate the info.

Andi and Ivan at Talon make a good shakey head. Check out the Lipstickers. Nearly indestructable coating.

Theres a couple things you can do to keep the eye from coating. First don't over heat your jig, you just want the paint to cover the jig, you don't want it to flash before you cure in the oven, this gives it a lighter coat of paint which also makes it more chip resistant, and second if you do get paint in the eye after you heat take a spinnerbait or buzz bait wire depending on how big the eye s, heat it up, and push it through the eye, this takes care of the paint covering the eye
