There is a similar thread going on this already but it doesn't really answer my questions.

What are the advantages to getting an aluminum boat over a fiberglass boat...or vice versa. I've found that I can get a new fiberglass bass boat for about the same price as a new aluminum bass boat (similarly equipped). What makes one better than the other?

Shane, fiberglass is prettier? maybe?

Aluminum is lighter and easier to tow and launch.

Really depends on the type of fishing you enjoy.... way out in the middle of the lake with 3 foot rollers or up in a cove covered in trees and stumps. smile

I like both. Sometimes I like the coves and other times I'm out in the middle.

It seems to me that a fiberglass boat would ride smoother because it's heavier. I would also think a fiberglass boat would be less prone to leaks. I'm just trying to weigh the pros and cons of each. I'm not too concerned about towing or launching. I could never afford a boat too big for my truck to tow.
