I came into possession of an older boat trailer that has tandem axle, hydraulic brakes, etc. However, above the hitch box, there's a knob that says 'Hand Tighten' with an arrow pointing in one direction saying 'On' and the other arrow saying 'Off'.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is that knob for?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

When all else fails, make another cast.
