Looking at going to one of these lakes for the spring time. I will be flying down because I live in Canada snd want to get some bass fishing in before the season opens up here. Kinda just want to get and idea on what i need to bring down. I probably won't bring down my rods because to much or a hasel at the airport with the extra fees. Would guides let me use theres as long I bring my own reels? Will also need transportation to and from the airport and a place to stay for like five days or so and help on this would be kindly appecaited thany you.

Most guides will furnish rods and reels and they are usually quality tackle, just contact them ahead of time and confirm.

Falcon would be my choice btw the two lakes.......

Not sure what time in the spring you are coming, but I would call JR Howard before heading this way to see what the water level is like on Ivie. If we don't get any rain between now and then, the lake may not be worth the trip, and you might consider Amistad instead.

Taking 5 to the weigh-in occurs when opportunity meets successful execution of one's preparation.

We all stumble and make mistakes. When you stumble, do you want your brother to help knock you down or to help set you back on your feet?

If ur going to falcon in the spring, you need to book your guide asap. Any full time guide there will get you on good fish. Finding the one that's not booked will be the tough part. Lol.

Jeff Walker is has been at Ivie for 19 years and knows the lake 'cause he's on it everyday. If your looking for a SAL, he has had four of them that has been caught from his boat.

I would go to Falcon and book Jim Behnken. He picked us up from the airport and took us to hotel. He also took our fishing gear and rigged them up for us that night and let us enjoy some cold adult beverages while we fished. Definately best lake and guide I have ever booked.
