you need to trace the 3 wire harness from your control box next to the driver seat. 3 wires should go to the front of the boat (if there is a trim switch up there), and 3 wires go towards the engine. just splice your new switch in, and everything will be just fine.

you may want to consult your local marine dealer for more details, but installing that switch is no big deal. just make sure your connections are covered with shrink tubing to keep them from coming loose.

good luck.

Thanks for the reply.
Also what are the 2 other wires in that harness for white and tan, black and white stripe. I would think these are for the tach which is not hooked up. How do I hook the tach up?
Thanks Ben

Tach sender wire is gray or yellow/gray, connect that to the tach SEND post.
Purple (12V switched) to tach IGN post.
Black (ground) to tach GRD post.
Connect the tach LT (gauge illumination) to your panel light switch if you have one, or your anchor light switch.

OMC control box has a 3-hole socket on the end facing you, under the keyswitch, covered by a rubber boot, with connections to the gray, purple and black wires in the control box. You can get a plug to fit from a dealer.
