Ok , I have had my trolling motor in the shop , and they cant find a problem , it only works sometime , when it does'nt work you can kick the head and it will come , I have one other buddy with the same problem , has anybody been thru this on there new trolling motors?

Is it hand or foot control? I have a MK 74lb thrust hand control and had similar problems. I took the head apart on mine and found the ribbon / pcb cable had a small crack in it from moving the tiller handle up and down. I tried to repair it, but no luck. I ended up having to replace the circuit board and speed control switch which is all 1 assembly. Not very cheap either. I ordered the part from the trolling motor shop on Lake Fork and recommend them if you need any parts.

it's a foot control , the shop has replaced the foot switch and the roller switch , and the boat breakers, same problem.

Have the same problem with my MK 74 (hand control) also. For a while only reverse worked then I would hit it a couple of times to get anything to work now it's totally dead. I have it on the bow of a bay boat and it takes a beating up there. I didn't figure it would last long. I guess I'll take it apart and look at it.

It's the armature.Have the aemature replaced and that'll fix her.
