Could anyone recommend a mechanic who works on Johnson motors in the Boerne/Bulverde area? I'm afraid my '94 48hp may need the carbs seen to. It definitely needs a tune-up.
Thanks in advance

Or, if no one knows anyone around Boerne, what about the general area northwest of San Antonio?
Thanks

steveb; I beleive there is a guy over there call Boat Masters,,,,I've talked to him quite a while ago and found him quite knowledgeable, I came to know about him thru Nettle's Props. If you don't mind a little drive, bring it to me in San Marcos @ Outboard Shop (512)353-1854

I took my 91' 98hp Johnson carbs off and apart (sitting for 3yrs in the weather). If you want to give it a try let me know if they just need cleaning.

Steve, you can buy an OMC service manual for about $30....and clean your carbs yourself. Just go to a dealer and get the manual, and carb kits if they are really bad. Then get some B12 Chemtool...just dont use it on anything rubber. It helps to have an air compressor too, to blow it all out. If Tennessee J will help, all the better ! Good luck !
Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and offers! I'm out of town a lot in the next 2-3 weeks, so I ran it by Boatmasters. We'll see how they do.
