Striper fisherman have been using them for many years. They call it the "umbrella rig".

What is the deal with the A-rig? Is it effective or what? I've been hearing alot about it. I'm curious, is it legal in Texas?

We got a shipment in at Bass Pro at Ray Hubbard yesterday of the umbrella rigs. Three sizes and not too expensive. We only got about 5 of each size and some have already been bought so they might not last very much longer. Some guys I have talked with have got some great idea's on their own version of how they are going to customize it.

Has anyone checked with the Game Warden?? All the ads I have seen for these state:

**Don't forget to check your State's fish and game rules and regulations - a fully rigged umbrella rig is illegal in some States.

It's an effective bait in certain situations. If/when it is suitable I prefer this.

You will need a stout rod for these. I use a 7'11" swimbait rod designed by Gary Loomis for Temple Fork Outfitters.

Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

Did you see them catching them on this rig at Guntersville, the last tournament of the season. Some were catching them two at a time. Paul Iglesa (sp?) caught 102.lbs on a in the tournament.
I thought they were a joke, but guess not.
