I was wondering what the census is or these reels? I'm looking to buy some and just want to make sure there a good reliable reel. Thanks and God bless!

It's a bottom of the line top of the line revo if your spending that kinda of money go ahead and get the sx at least. I honestly think mettles are way better than revo s.

I have one I got on sale for under $100, its been a great reel. I throw pop-r's on it and it will throw a 1/4oz yellow magic a long ways..

Yah I heard about the Mettle's but there is one major problem with them. I'm a lefty and they don't make a lefty. I thought that was kind of ridiculous that a company would come with a reel. It would then get really popular and they haven't even made a left handed one after it has blown up like it has.

I've had the Revo S and Rev SX, and honestly I liked the Revo S more. The adjustment knobs on the Revo SX didn't have a fine enough adjustment for me. There was basically one click difference between backlashing every other cast or having way too much braking and unnecessarily compromising casting distance. The knob on the Revo S isn't any better, but it wasn't so smooth that I was backlashing every time.

However, I tried a Citica and liked it better than either and that's what I've got now for all of my low-profile setups. I still have a special place in my heart for the old round ambassadeurs and still use those on all of my non-low-profile setups. Right now it's about half and half. But I think most any new reel I buy will probably be a Citica. The VBS (variable braking system I believe) is far, far superior to the Revo brakes.

I have a bunch of these and I love them. They are low profile and fit my hand really well. The drag system is extremely good. I use them for just about every technique. I have several shimano's and I prefer these hands down.

You won`t go wrong with the S. I`ve had mine for about three years and use it a lot and it`s never given me any trouble.

I'm the biggest Revo fan in the world, but having said that I don't know that I will own another S or STX for that matter.

The SX is awesome. Well worth the money upgrade from the S and so close to the STX I don't think I could justify the STX. My S's have been very reliable though. I don't think you would regret the purchase, but you'll probably fall in love with the SX.

I haven't had much experience with the magnetic brakes so have not purchased an sx. I've heard a few stories about how you constantly have to adjust everytime you change baits, so I've stuck with my set it and forget it centrifugals. I do have a citica and a revo s, both left handed. I must say I use the citica more, feels smoother but the revo feels more sturdy and I can get more distance from it. If you get a deal on the revo s you won't regret it smile.

I have all the revos, and yes the revo s is a great reel. If I ever catch em on sale at 79 I will grab a couple more. They are great reels. Sx is probably my favorite of all the Revos.

I have 5. Have had them for 2-3 years, good reels just make sure you tighten the screws from time to time. Best reel under $100. my .02

I've had both the Revo S and the Citica E, and I like the Citica E casting, and the Revo S once the lure is in the water...
