It seems that many people here prefer circle hooks. Are these the true circle hooks, or the ones where the point is a little outside the 'circle?' How many use these? How many use Kale hooks? What others do you use? What determines which you use?capt david

I like circle hooks because bigger fish tend to hook them selves, and that is important when fishing with rod holders. You have to set a khale hook, and you may not get to it in time. As far as the hook goes, the barb is usually offset. Most guys seem to like the gamagatsu octopus circles. I use the hooks pro angler sells, they are a little different, but I think I'm gunna get some gamas when I run out of these.

Gamagatsu offset circle hooks in 5/0 to 10/0 are great +1........I started getting mine from Bottom Dwellers tackle..... http://bottomdwellerstackle.com/ .....fast shipping too.....u can get most of anything u will need there...... Some guys still like Kahl hooks cuz they like to set the hook Best thing about circles is u don't have to dig hook out of fish's throat cuz they almost always hook in corner of mouth

I get the Gamakatsu 8/0 from BPS. 13 bucks for 25 hooks, no shipping. And..it gives me an excuse to go to BPS.

i've started using the owner mutu circles. they're a little more expensive than gamas but i think they're worth it. i usually get em at bass pro but couldn't find em on the website.

Try vision hooks. I use the 9/0 circle and they are the best out there. I do a lot of drifting up here on the ohio river and had at least 97% hook up. Try these you won't be disappointed visionhooksandtackle.com talk to randy tell him Ben Goebel sent you

For those of us that live too far from Bass Pro or Cabelas, try Gander Mountain's website . Free shipping and the prices are still slightly less than BP or Cabelas. $2.99 for 6 pack of 8/0.

For pond fishing I generally have been using the Owner Ultra Point size 2 treble hooks, these are the sharpest hooks I've found and I've yet to bend one on fish up to 50+lbs.
Otherwise anything by Owner or Gamakatsu that is a good quality hook and then just tailor the size to your target fish size.

Good hooks are like good ammo. You get what you pay for.
I, and many other catfish anglers trust the DOUBLE ACTION and SUPER CAT hooks from Team Catfish.
Your next bite could be the fish of a lifetime. Better have a good hook.
