The hydrilla in Lake Austin is killin' me.

I have an 54lb. MG TM with the standard 3-blade Machete prop. For $45 there's an MG prop called the Hydrilla Hacker, which the box labeling says is recommended for the MG digital TMs. MG makes no mention of their standard props and the HHacker.

Anyone know if 1) this thing cuts the grass, and 2) can it work on a standard 3.5" MG motor?

I've never killed anyone, but I've read several obituaries with great enjoyment.

I have one on a Motorguide 82# TM. (Note that the Motorguide hydrlla hacker IS THE SAME prop that used to be marketed by Kipawa (MG bought the rights) and used to be bashed as causing all sorts of motor problems.

The one I have works well and I like it. It does a good job in the grass --- IF you keep the speed up, however the grass/weeds will still collect around the TM shaft and you'll periodically have to raise the TM and clean them off.

I like the way Motorguide told me last year that using the Kippawa would void my warranty - then they go and start selling them mad

I have one on my 72lb Motorguide, and I love it. I have not heard anything about it voiding my warranty, I have my trolling motor built and propped by Boris Marine in Lake Worth. I have had that thing in some nasty cabbage, and it worked great. Nothing but good with this prop for me....

That was BEFORE MG bought the rights to them! Obviously now that they've done that everything is suddenly OK. Anything to stifle the competition!!!
