first, i bought a trim up/down switch at acadmy. it has three wirs a purple, blue and a green. how do they wire up on the sealnoids in the moter. now im mounting this on the bow so i will be running wires to the motor.
second, it seems like my boat is burning more gas than it has in the past. just last week i burned over.75 of gas. and i didnt do that much running. i have 1995 90hp force. i have looked at my hoses for leaks i cant find nothing. boat has been running fine. do yall think it might be a carb promblem?
third, on my tach it reads way high.but, if i thump it it falls back where it is sopose to be. is this a problem or should i let it be?
thanks

Probably need a regular tuneup........tach is sticking, and going bad, mine does the same thing once in a while- live with it or buy a new tach.

You might try cleaning the contacts on the back of the tach???? Just in case its a loose connection or corrosion.

larry, The purple wire is 12v positive, the blue wire connects to the up circuit, which is also blue, and the green wire connects to the down circuit, which is also green. Boatman is correct with the other problems. Tommy Yetts Rockwall Marine

larry, You should use a 20amp fuse or circuit breaker for the trim system.A tune up, minor, for your motor will be around $150.00. This incudes comp. test, decarbonizing, rebuild fuel pump, spark plug replacement, synchronizing timing and carbs, adjusting cables and lubing motor including l/u lube change.
