I'm no help, but I see we posted pretty much the same question. I hope we get some input, or even better, I can give you a good report after I get back.

I would fish bruspile that are on a south shore. Winds are going to be south at 15 with gusts to 25mph.

Fellas, this link might help you guys make a decision on a ramp to use. Please be mindful of the winds. Weather folks talk of high winds so please be really careful. http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/drought/drought.htm May God bless all of you folks as you Stay true to the Thump!!

Ok so the link says the ramps at both state parks and pecan creek are closed due to high water? Is this correct?

They got rain two days in a row. I have used the report before and I have found it to be spot on in the past. I personally use Jordon park. ($5.00) Also, Isle du Bois State park ($$$) is NOT on there as CLOSED. Call this number and they can help you for sure. (940) 686-2148 Also look at this list, it might also help. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/ray_roberts/access.phtml#pointf

I like Pecan Creek and I'd be very suprised to see it closed due to high water. The lake would probably have to come up 6 ft for that. You could always call the ranger at Johnson Branch to check.

Johnson is fine. We were there 2 wks ago & the water has barely changed since then. Even called them since we're going back. I think that report is not all updated; maybe some of it outdated. Johnson is good.

The water is about 4 1/2 to 5 foot low. all ramps are in great shape and open. Try fishing coe piles in 30 to 45 ft range, the crappie are there. Just got off the water, kept 30 good crappie and some sandies. Best bait to use is minnows right now.
