I went out today with a couple friends but it didn't go so well. I tossed everything I could think of. Cut shad, punch bait, some soap. I put out a few jug lines but got nuthin. Im pretty sure I didn't even get a bite. Long story short I need yalls help. Where can I find the cats this time of year. What rig should I use. I fished on the bottom all day. Maybe I should have used a float. IDK....I could really use some advice lol.

Fishing on the bottom ain't bad. It's how much water is between the top and bottom is where you can mess up sometimes. Find the bait and the fish should be close by. I've been catching a good amount out of 4' or less the last two trips on EM. I've never fished Granger but hopefully one of the locals can help with areas to look for. Better luck next time.

try to drift the lake if you are in a boat....if not try the shore lines where the wind is in your face---the cats will follow the baitfish. I have good luck on cut buffalo at time when the shad bite seems slow. You can purchase buffalo at fiesta markets in the fresh seafood section ..leave the skin on but have them scale it. chicken strips and dead red spray is a great combination as well..Good luck.

Try a Santee cooper rig. Carolina rig with a cigar float a couple inches above the hook. I'm having a harder time finding fish lately too. Usually catch 2-3 a trip. Been fishing 25-40 ft water mostly.

Fish the trees on the upper end of lake with a good punch bait.
