Headed to wheeler branch in the A.M. Goin to try and catch some walleye and smallies. I have never been just heard of it a week ago, if anyone knows how to catch walleye, or what on tips would be greatly appreciated. Also lake reports are good. Thanks
Cole.

My buddy and I fished there this last Friday from 11am-5pm. Fishing was tough. We talked to several boats on the lake and they werent having much luck either. One guy said the bite was good on Thursday, but the weather had given them lockjaw.

We ended up with five LMB; no walleyes or smallmouth. It took a while to figure out how to fish - the lake isn't like any of our East Texas lakes. Visibility was at least ten feet. Four of our fish came on DD22s; the last came on a jig.

I fished Saturday late morning and early afternoon. Caught 5 LMB on bottom fishing a tube and senko... All fish were under 2 pounds but looked like little footballs... Nice and fat and thick... Caught fish in 5 feet to 18 feet of water.. i fought the wind most of the time so I was fishing the less windy side of the lake near the bank. I caught one 3.5 catfish in 20 feet of water at the damm. Nice little lake but might not go back for a while. I fished out of a kayak.

The lake has a 15 boat limit. The day we were there I counted 5 boats. I'd say that 15 boats would be a crowded day. The lake is very small; about the size of a big farm pond. Good thing it is deep! Really clear and pretty out there.
