decided last minute while Ash was still beaming in her infinite 15 minutes of fame that I was going to hit a small wind protected cove on LBL this morning. I loaded my stuff and went to bed early. Got to the lake (mid lake area) and began loading up the yak. Now I do the same thing everyday. Each item is loaded the same way. When I got to my tackle jar, it was not in the bag!!! Nada. nothing. Missing! Now after driving through Austin downtown traffic I was not about to just load up and go home. I found a split shot and had 2 old flies... so Im back in business. I began searching the limbs and overhangs that the bank guys hung up in and could not retrieve their lost tackle...I came away with a fire tiger Jerk bait (no use for sunnies) I found a brand new "bitsy minnow" crawdad pattern now were talking! And I found a strange set up with a #8 size hook and 3 split shots...good to go!
I caught 7 redbreast all under 9" but was able to kill some time for the traffic to thin out. Nothing worth photo'ing, but had a blast scavenging.
This has not been a kind month for me LOL.

sorry for your missing stuffs . Atleast you caught something even your stuffs were missing few weeks back while i was fishing at this pond someone sneaked into my bag and grabbed all hooks and weights lol .

That Size 8 hook and the three split shots were mine. Glad you got some use out of em.

Nice way to scavenge dear! I am sure the homeless people in Fiesta Park are going to trash your truck next time you are down there since you stole their future fishing gear.

Man if you only knew how many times I showed up at a lake and realized that I left my tackle box at home! One thing I can say is I have never forgot my fishing pole.

I am making an emergency box to leave in the truck, I need to ask Chuck if this could have been an age related issue LOL.

Can't be Chuck and Robert are always loaded with their tackles wherever they go .

It has to be the age! No question about it. I too have gone off several times leaving my tackle box at home. I can remember heading to a creek in South Texas and when I got there No tackle! Bad thing about it there was not even a Walmart close by. Other Anglers I have talked to say "It is all part of fishing"!

I know what you mean. It pissed me off when I'd leave the forceps or bait at home. I fixed this issue by not taking my tackle out of the trunk of my car. I still occasionaly forget the bait.
