I know I've seen a few threads on here about what treble hooks people prefer when replacing crankbait treble hooks. But I was fishing today with a buddy of mine, trying to get him a new personal best and we were fishing traps and he had a monster come up right at the bank and straighten his hook out. I thought the new Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps had triple grips on them (and they might) but I'm looking for a treble hook that wont straighten out, I had him on a light action rod and drag set right so I'm disappointed in the hooks performance lol.

Thats my money fish

I used the KVD triple grips for awhile and didnt like them now I use Owner Stingers 2X they are no doubt strong sharp and rarely loose fish anymore like I was with triple grips.

Kvd tripplegrips are a lot different than normal tripplegrips never had one bend broke one on a tree but not bent you can swing a 5+ lb fish no problem

Just discontinue using the treble hooks altogether.
A double under the belly and a single at the rear are plenty of hook, and you will see that you get a more secure hookset. The fewer hooks are able to get a better purchase or "dig".

I began doing this 50 years ago while just a kid, with the Jitterbug. Also works very well with the lipless cranks.
And the Manns' One-Minus, all sizes.
And lure action is not affected at all after a little experimentation with hook size.

The result will be a higher percentage of fish landed versus the amount of strikes. And if a strike is missed, would likely been an inferior hookup anyway.
