Mike called me up at 1 pm and asked whats up. So I said, "I guess its time to go fishin?"

Got to the lake at about 330-345. First 3 drops Mike lands a fish. Then it was every 2-3 mins a fish would hit the deck. It was glass calm out there today! Nice for a change. Caught well over 50 fish. Then they stopped right at dark, so we got off the lake.

Today the magic number was 13-15 ft.

There were some hogs out there today...

Nice haul! Today was a great day on the lake. I think the first frost makes them hungry. (Too bad we didn't cover the tomatoes smirk

Hey there Tarponfly...great fish! When you say 13-15' is that brush sitting in 13 foot of water or fish suspended at 13' on docks or bridges, trees? I'm new to crappie, got into a mess of dinks on EM, under a dock in about 5' of water, but still trying to figure these guys out! Any help is appreciated...

What an absolute Brute that 2nd one was. Sorry I missed a good time with you fellas today. The oh so wonderful pregnant wife ruled the day for me. Now looks like the time to book a trip and put some fish in the boat and on the plate.

Rowdy's Question/Answer:

I have found them in brush in 7-18 ft everytime I go out.
There is timber everywhere exposed. 12-18 ft in 22 ft was getting them last week. Bridges, I scan till I find them. They change everyday to a magic depth. Today was 13-14 ft. before the front they were 12ft everywhere on brush timber rocks tire reefs, find the structure and you find the fish most of the time.Today they wanted it held as still as possible. A lot of times we would rest the rod on the side of the boat and sit as still as possible and then the rods would start to bend with fish on. Just have to find out what they want and how they want it.

Well thanks for clearing that up for me...if I get a day off soon, I'm gonna hit the lake and give it a try, sounds like to me, it takes alot of trying to figure their moods out, but once you do it's game on!
