I have to fish from the back of the boat this weekend. How many rods is ok? I want five but could cut it to four.

Depends on the boat. But if 4 is ok, 5 should be too.

If it's a buddy's boat bring 15. If not, talk to the boater and ask him what he thinks is fine. It also depends on the boat. Some boats are designed to where the non-boater can have 6-8 rods without getting in the way, but other boats not so much.

5-6 what does it hurt if they are down under the console or next to you placed away nicely. Now don't leave your stuff out all over the place put it back up when your through using it and don't hit the guys motor .

As many as YOU can trip over. As long as they stay off the front deck. The guy that made the boat payment can have as many as he wants...wherever he wants!

I normally take 4-6 depending on the lake and the baits we will be using.

Thats the nice thing about a Legend, it's got that built in spot in back for the other guy's rods, keeps them so even he doesn't have to worry about tripping over them, holds about 5 to 6 rods

I usually carry 2-3 rigs.

How big a guy is in the back seat?

The fewer rods you bring the easier your day will be. Boater normally dont care because theyre only in the backseaters way. 3 or 4 is what I do.

5-6 should be enough most times to have a good variety of setups. Even if I only need 3 I'll still take 5 so I've got a backup rod or two in case conditions change the bite or I mess up and backlash the $%@# out of a reel.
