If you purchased a brand new $40,000 Skeeter ZX225 just 6 months ago and Skeeter tells you the hull has to be replaced. Would you let them replace the hull or would you expect another new boat. The boat hasnt been on the water 10 times and has been in the shop for 75 days and still counting over the last 6 months and this go around it has been in the shop for a month and a half straight mad . What would you expect from Skeeter?

Bend over, grab your ankles and smile...what possessed you to spend 40K on a bass boat?

I'd tell them I want my money back--6 months old and only been on the water 10 times and needs a new hull?? Sounds like a design problem to me. Either that or you have a lemon--I think Texas has a lemon law, don't they?

Raiderred, I don't think the lemon law applies to boats. Now to Sportsmans problem. I would tell them to give me a whole new rig or rig out my new hull for me.If you have had no problem with the engine then as long as they rig it out should be ok. What is the prblem with your boat.---Smitty

My buddy has a ZX225 and had to have the hull repaired and Skeeter wouldn't cover it. $5000 later and he swore off Skeeters. It wasn't even 2 years old yet. Only 6 months Realtor? That's real bad. Is this why a new Ranger costs $50,000?

What is the problem with the hull? Very curious here since I just purchased a $40,000.00 Skeeter ZX225 about a month ago.

You should take your friend fishing and get his opinion!!! Then get skeeter to replace it with the new body style.

I would start out by demanding a full refund. This may be a long shot, however it is better to start out high. The absolute least I would accept is a new Skeeter boat. Not a hull repair or replacement of the bottom with your deck, a new boat. It is rediculous to pay $40K for a boat and have that kind of service. I think you would do this forum a service if you detailed the problem that you have. Many of the fishermen on this forum have Skeeter boats and it might give them something to look for on their boats.

The problem is the boat will not achieve speed and has a a very sluggish out of the hole shot. This boat should run on average about 72mph, with reports of getting 74mph from other ZX225 owners. I am only achieving about 66mph average, and it takes a good distance to achieve that. It is also like you are trying to get high performance out of a big square barge. In other words it has a performance issue such as in cornering and handling. After being to three dealerships they all say that the boat will not get up on the pad, so boat just flat out wont lift out of the water. All three dealerships have taken it out on the lake and have all had there computers on the engine. They say the engine is fine and producing the correct rpm's and the compression is great. Now Skeeter says with out seeing the boat they cannot say what the problem is for sure, BUT it looks like the boat has too much hook in the back. Which is not allowing the boat to achieve full lift when trimming up. The jack plate on this thing has been set every where imaginable and we have had 5 props on this boat. So every thing has pretty much been ruled out except for what skeeter says about having to much hook. Skeeter was supposed to come and get the boat this weekend and they have now postponed it until Monday or Tuesday and would probably not have a preliminary analysis until Friday. If it is not the hook it could be a couple other problems in the fiblerglass itself. They say that they are going to have to put a straight edge on it and several other things.

How do you get too much 'hook' out of a hull that 'pops' out of a mold from which thousands of boats are formed.

Sounds a little suspicious to me! noidea
