I've got a pond I'm wanting to hit up that holds crappie. Are the patterns similar to the lakes? Once the cold weather hits, they will go shallow? I wasn't sure how the shad patterns work, it at all for ponds. I've got waders and a tube so getting off the bank isn't a problem.

Any pointers on how the fall/winter patterns would work I'd appreciate.

Pattern is basically the same as a lake. Crappie will still hang close to cover, piers, brush, and drops same as a lake. Colder weather they will be in deeper water in cover. Warmer weather the same. Spring shallow, fall, anywhere there is cover and bait fish. I fish several ponds and would be happy to come to yours to show you how to catch them. I have a bobcat 2 man electric boat make for crappie fishing. PM me and lets plan a trip

Any shoreline brush, or deep brush. Ive found that on ponds, patterns and fish dont change year round.
