i think falcon is an awesome place to have an event like this
learn from a very experienced angler and have the chance to catch huge bass three fish was exciting too
thought the format was good just need to figure out how to get more people next year

JR I agree this time of year a five fish stringer for a team event would be better.

I have never been a part of this web site before. I decided to enter because I have something to say.

I would like to thank the people that took the time to organize this event on Falcon Lake this weekend. It must be a strong desire you have to make this grow. It surely wasn't done for the money. The turnout was most likely affected by the front that blew thru and a slight lack of advertisement. This would only be my opinion and worth a grain of salt at best.
I feel proud, honored, and blessed to have been a part of this event, I made a new friend this weekend and mostly I had the pleasure of fishing for two days with someone who was truly hungry to learn. Although I am not the teacher that Bubba Haralson is, I say this because he has patiently taught Charlie, Tom and myself how to be competitive and understand subtle changes in our abilities. I truly had the honor of a student in my boat this weekend that watched my every move when I fished Saturday, he then applied himself in my shoes on Sunday and made our stringer what it was. Without Bobby Peek (my amateur) my Sunday stringer was not possible.
I dont guide and have great respect for the guides who beat themselves up all year trying to fish in any conditions they are dealt. However, guides, pro's, amateurs.... It doesn't matter what we get classified as, it matters what we put into it. I practiced for 23 days for the BassChamps Championships and I found a few things that could help my friend Chris Snyder and I fight to try to win that event. The fact that one of those places helped Bobby and I rise to the top this weekend was just lucky.
Whether it's 3 fish or 5 fish.....50% or 70%......his gas, my gas........It's all about making new friends, preparing yourself, and hoping the weather doesn't fall apart. I hope the same people put together the same event next year on THEIR terms, they can count on my entry, maybe even as an amateur, I could draw someone that might take the time to teach me something new about the lake.

Patrick welcome to the site and congrats on a good solid win. I fish Falcon over 300 days a year and the day I quit learning from being out there and fishing with other people I will quit. That is what it is all about. Making new freinds and sharing info.that will help each other learn.

That is a sick bag, especially considering that it was a 3 fish per day limit. Patrick has that lake dialed in right now. Word is that Patrick beat out the rest of the field at the Pro-Am by over 9#. Congrats man! No word on patterns, lures, or techniques yet. I'm waiting to get more info......

welcome to the TFF, Patrick. Glad to have you.

And congratulations to you and Mr. Peek on your win! Just like you and Tommy have said, the day I quit learning something while fishing or hunting is the day I will hang it up. However, if one keeps their eyes, ears and heart open, I don't think they could ever fail to learn in the outdoors.
