OP R_B_NITRO Extreme Angler R Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 2,131 Dickinson North Dakota	Well I was fishing a tourney on lake Tyler, launched the boat drove to our take off spot and go to turn the boat around and nothing, steering wheel is locked and will not turn. Get back to the ramp and dis-connect the cables from the motor to see if they would move and nothing still stuck. The cables don't seem to be broke so i'm thinking maybe it's in the steering colum. Anyone had any experience with this kind of problem? Any help would be appreciated. Ray

OPTI Extreme Angler O Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 1,509 Benbrook Tex	The clutches in helm have probably locked up and it is non rebuildable so a new helm is in your future. But before I order a helm remove the cables and make sure one or both move freely sometimes you have to replace the whole system because it helm is locked up you can't get the cables out of the helm Now if you want hydralic steering that is sweet Once you go hydralic you will never go back to cables.....OPTI
