Me and my friends who fish (37 to be exact) want to have a Big bass tournament This Friday at a lake not far away that has bass up to 7 pounds. I'm organizing it and We decided on an entry fee of $10 per person, Should I fish it if I organized it? The tournament will be from shore from 12-5 pm. Any suggestions on how we should go about weighing in fish?

No reason you cant fish it even though you are organizing it. The only kicker is you'll be the last one out and the first one in so you can get weigh in set up.

Take a weigh in bag and poke a few holes in it, have each angler transfer their fish into the bag you poked holes in.. drain off any excess water and weigh it. Record the weight and give the fish back to the angler that caught it to be released. As long as every angler weighs on the same scale and in the same bag its all good!

I missed the part about it being from shore.... you need a weigh master that goes around weighing the fish as they are caught, or everyone participating needs to go buy the same brand scale.

Everybody's got cell phones right? Have everybody bring a measuring tape and take a pic of their big fish measured, longest fish wins.

I've thrown back longer fish because they aren't as heavy as fish I was trying to cull . Anyways if its from the shore just fish till someone catches a fish and weigh it then release it just write it all down...
