Summer was good I was able to consistently put slabs in the boat. Then the lake turned over and the crappie kinda scattered every which direction but I could still hit standing timber and stumps and get 1 or 2 of each one. Now a couple small cold fronts latter the crappie are kickin my butt.
I have fished brush, trees, rocky banks, submerged concrete columns from an old bridge, creek channels that are full of bait, fished deep, fished shallow, fished everything in between.
I invited a fellow forum member to fish Palo Pinto Creek with me. The water was muddy we managed two keepers and a blue but the hours we spent and the numerous spot we hit we should have both put several in the boat.
I hope that I am not the only one that basically got skunked this last week. (3 trips 4 crappie)

Creeks are the way to go. Also just have to find out where they hang out in the fall as opposed to summer.
