Got 1993 tracker pro deep v-17, it has the large livewell (about 20-25 gallons) along the port aft(left side). i can pump it with the pump(top discharge) thru the fill pump. however it drains when i get on plane. the drain hole is in bottom corner of livewell aft. researching on google, i think im missing the "standpipe" out of the hole. does anyone have this type livewell that they can post some pics of the standpipe or take some measurements of? i can plug the hole with a rubber transom plug, but it still seeps out when i trailer, i like the idea of the standpipe, and being able to recirculate the livewell. tks, doc

Hmmm.... I have an '89 Tracker Deep V Pro 17 as well. Your live well actually fills up?! Mine hasn't seen water since I bought the tin can. Actually, I had a mechanic loose patience while working on my boat and it hasn't worked since.

Put a plug in the drain hole. I have no idea what a standpipe is but that will solve your problem of the livewell draining.

i put a plug in it, but the size is not standard size, so the rubber plug lets it seep out while trailering fish home. thanks for the suggestions, do some more research on standpipe. Dav-o sorry about your troubles. had my boat over year and love it. doc

They sell livewell stand pipes. A bing search turned up this web site: http://www.tackletogo.com/aerandlivpum.htmlLooks like you need to know the diameter of the hole in your livewell. I have a tapered rubber plug, looks like it would fit several different sizes. I leave my plug in until I want to use the live well, then I put the fish in and pull the plug out for a minute or so then put the plug back in. Turn on the aerator for a few minutes every now and then for fresh water. I have left it on too long before and water goes out the overflow hose in the top of the livewell. Leave the plug in for the trip home and then pull the plug when the fish are out. Do you have an overflow hose on the top of your livewell? If so, you won't need a stand pipe. BIL has a stand pipe on his toon because his livewell doesn't have a overflow hose.
Put the plug in.

sbump26,
thanks for the info. i dont have an overflow in the top, thats why i think it has a standpipe that is missing. only drain hole is in the bottom, if fills up about 1/3rd then stops, i can turn areation pump on and it will fill all way up with the ill fitting plug. ill see about getting the standpipe. doc

Do you have the empty/normal "switch" for the livewell? It opens and closes the drain in my Nitro so I can drain it or recirculate on the trailer.

Marine 2/3, was ur standpipe in the middle or in the corner, mine is in the corner, so it will need a 90 degree elbow right?
i dont have empty/normal switch, just the fill switch. im going to cut some pvc for it.
thanks guys for the replies.

I called it a switch, and it actually says Auto/Empty, but here it is:

I have a 09 Tracker PT 170 and mine didnt come with a standing pipe, just a drain plug in the bottom of the live well. Mine probably has a overflow also but i never have checked because i never have put fish in the live well, just catch and release.
