bucu4u, Shimano calcutta 700 or Quantum IR430. They work great for me for big bluecats in freshwater. Not sure if they'll hold up in the saltwater conditions. I sling 6oz lead with an 11 ft. med-heavy action rod, using 20 lb premium Ande line.
Love to see the poles lay over!!!

The Squidder is in many minds the ultimate surf reel. It casts great, has a tough drag, will last forever, and is relatively cheap, especially on eBay. The Penn Graphite series are also great surf reels. I like Penns so much because they can handle the sand and still perform. The reels with tight tolerances will get sand in 'em and lock up.

Daiwa Sealine X 30shv!!!!!!! It casts great, holds plenty of line, and is very easy to use. I have mine on a 12'6"Tica surf rod. It is tough, has a very smooth drag, and a very loud bait clicker. Just don't forget to put the red brakes in it if you buy one or you'll blow up the first cast. I generally throw 6-8 ounces and bait with mine. A lot of surf casters swear by the Penn 525 mag, also.
