If you on a 17'-19', with a 100-150hp motor, how much gas do you burn on an average 1/2 day fishing trip? capt david

6-12 Gallons is enough for fishing in that size boat.

3-4 gallons although run and gun is not my style.
When in doubt, jerk.

I burn up about 1/2 tank every time I go to Hubbard. It costs around $40 to refill it every time. 16' Ranger/115 Merc.

I have a 17' 135hp and usually put in about 20 bucks a trip. Sometimes I dont use it all, sometimes I burn the gas that was left plus the 20 bucks. I would say 3-6 gallons depending.
Gas is the cheapest part of owning a boat.

Last time on Hubbard, burned a little less than 1/4 tank. 18.5' 150hp, 40 gallon tank. So probably burned ~8 gallons for a pretty full day.
edit: just saw about 1/2 day, so probably ~5 gallons for a good half day.

I have a19 ft bay boat with 2 stroke 115. Probably log on about 60-70 miles per outing. Usually pump around 50-60 dollars of gas per trip.

I have a 18'6 with a 150 2 stroke and only burn about 5-7 gallons on a 1/2 day trip...

I have an 18.5 ft aluminum bass boat with a 115 four stroke and I put $20 in it every second or third trip to the lake. It has a 27 gallon tank so I dont fill it up so the fuel stays fresh.

The question has two answers for me.
If it's a lake I know well then 6-12 gallons is plenty for a whole day.
If i'm fishing a tournament or dont know the lake that well I will usually burn more. 10-18 gallons.
I always add in 6 gallon increments because I premix.

Depends on the lake for me. Fayette or Bastrop 1/4 tank. Lake Austin, Travis or Falcon right at a full tank a day. My 17' 9" skeeter 135 merc only holds about 15 gallons though.
