I am having a difficult time catchin bass in my local ponds with the usual flies. Does anyone know of any more realistic flies that will catch picky bass? These bass are florida strain and are huge but only bite more realistic baits that resemble minnows and perch. Thanks for the help.

Budd has some winners there. Also, I've seen bass get really shy and finicky after they've been caught and released a few times. For this reason we recommend killing each and every one caught. I'm kidding!
But presentation can be a big help as well as flies. Sinking lines, varying retrieves, these can all play a part in the bigger picture.

Thanks for the tips guys. I only throw the hybrids and crappie on the bank btw. Any good fly tiers out there willing to me a few, of course I'll pay? I really like the Enrico Puglisi trout minnow with its up turned hook, however, it is just not large enough for bass. Budd, those flies look great!

The EP Flies can be tied any size you want them. Just use bigger hooks and more fluffy stuff! The black one in the pic is about 5 inches long. Kirk
