At what water temp do yall feel the topwater really starts to slow down or stop.

Anything above 85 degrees except during summer nights.

Yes. As we get into fall and the water gets cooler, when do you feel the topwater is not working as well.

I Throw a top water year round I use a buzzbait in Feb to find beds in muddy water they can't stand it comin over their bed ! A lot of pros use more top waters in 55 degree temps than the rest of the year

the water takes alot longer than the air to cool, my best trophy topwater bite has always been the week of thanksgiving. i pick it back up in early spring.

There are exceptions to every rule of thumb, of course, but a lot of fishermen start trying them in the 50 - 55 deg. F. range. My experience is that a fairly consistent bite is more likely in 60+ deg. water. Having said that, I've seen a fishing show where bass were being caught on a sunny day in 45 deg. water - so go figure!

i stop throwing them once it gets around 55...not to say they wont work i just have more confidence in other techniques in that temp range.

I usually have a buzzbait on a rod year round. Me and my fishing partner went out yesterday the day after a cold front with blue bird skies and 49 degree air temp and absolutely slayed them with topwater frogs.
