Today I had Cody, Dave, and John out on Somerville for a pretty day fishing, while the wives went shoping in Brenham. The families, from Houston, were camping at Somerville this weekend. Dave took first fish and most fish, while Cody took big fish of 21 inches . Winds were lite at about 5 mph and there was hardly a boat on the water until about 11am. Morning started at 36 degrees at the boat ramp. Lake is 10.5 feet below normal. We needed to catch 17 fish to break last years record year of 6,668 fish on my boat. Cody got #17 for the day and I took a picture of him wearing a CJ's punch bait cap, holding fish #6,669, breaking the previous record. But,they did not stop there. They ended the trip before noon with 75 fish in the cooler, with some of them in the 18-21" size. Bringing the current year to date total at the end of October 6,726. All fish caught on CJ's shad punch bait, under cork, in 2-4 foot water.
