I'm talking over-the-counter. Let's keep it real. A properly adjusted, properly cleaned and lubed cheep reel can cast just as far as a properly adjusted, properly cleaned expensive reel if matched to the same rod and weight. I've got old $30 Quantums that can cast just as far as my TD-Zs but they have crappy drags, die-cast gears that sound like a sewing machine and are sloppy loose on the roller bearings (not actual bearings but brass bushings).

Hey jignpig, I absolutely love the Advantage reel I bought from Cabela's. Thank you for the recomendation. The drag system is sweet! I had to try it out so I went down to Galveston Bay and caught some redfish. I don't know if you have ever caught some of those beauties before, but they love to make long runs, usually 2 or more. The drag was just as smooth as my dads Chronarchs. Needless to say, I might have to consider buying Daiwa from now on. Thanks again!

You're quite welcome, Coby. Always good to pass on information that helps.
I think they run about $50.00 more or less, logo.

Where did you find the 150 Advantage for 59.98$? I'm looking for some good lefty reels and that price range is awesome.

How does the Team Daiwa 153H7 that Wal-Mart sells compare to the Advantage 150H and 150HST?

j3x The 153 is a step up IMO. The 153 has 7 bb & 1 rb compared to the 150 that has 5 bb & 1 rb. To me the 153 feels smoother(extra bearings?). I just got 2 of them and chomping at the bit to try them out. They also sell them at Cabela's for $139.99. How much are they selling them at Wally world for?

CobyT, Where did you find the 150H for $59.00? I bought one at BPS a few months ago with a team Diawa Extreme rod for that price and been looking every since for another. I love the one I got but didn't want to pay $99 for another.
