Baitcasters allow for accuracy and control. The only spinner I use is an ultralight so I can't speak for them....

Big_Mike, I guess the first thing I would ask is if you have used the bait cast and spin? Then I would ask if you had a preference or felt more comfortable with either? The type you feel more comfortable with would be the one that I would so use. Regardless of the brand.
Now lets ask what type fishing do you do? Finesse, Cranking, etc. This would help on trying to help you out.
There are a lot of great guys on the forum and are more than willing to help you.

TS-

Well I am new at the whole bass thing but I have only tryed the Finesse and drop shot riggings with any luck. As for what I have fished with I have used both spinning and baitcast I feel more confortable with spinning since thats all I'v used while catfishing. Baitcast well I had to learn and still not as acurate with it as the spinn, I really love the feel and ease of the baitcast?

Big Mike, what baits do you generally throw the most of? For me its baitcasters all the way except for finesse (6 lb and lighter), drop shot and skipping docks. Heck, Loomis even makes a drop shot rod in a caster.

You cant beat the feel of a caster when fishing contact baits like tx rigged worms and jigs. Some baits, like 1/2 oz spinner baits and deep diving cranks, I cant even imagine fishing on a spinning rig.

When making the transition to a casting outfit it can be overwhelming, good idea to match your reel to a rod in a med to med/heavy with length of 6'6"-7'. With that set up you should be well suited to throw a variety of baits.

Once used to baitcasting its hard to pick up spinnings rights. U have so much more casting distance and accuracy with a baitcaster its crazy. Spinning is just my finesse applications that are too tough to do with baitcasters. The more you use baitcasters the less you will use your spinning!! IMHO

I was a spinning person before I got serious about bass fishing. I stuck to the baitcaster for all of my applications. I stopped catching fish and thought about it. "Dance with the one who brought ya." (Sound familiar Streak?)

I started incorporating the spinning outback into my fishing and started catching fish again. What I'm trying to say is to fish with what you're comfortable with.

I sure miss the stump dodging on Lake Fork...But I'm coming back soon to catchOVER the slot! 👍🏾

Vertical fishing the drop shot--spinning.
Everything else, baitcasters.
That works for me.
