I was thinking the same thing. Never fished there since I hear its overcrowded during the weekends. Is it better to fish the east side or west side of the bridge (west side = closest to the ferry)?
Sure this weekend ROLLOVER PASS is overcrowded. If you like to catch flounder fish on the bay side(ferry side). You can catch in another side to flounder ,but the ferry side of chanel have more flounder.
This month i was fishing about 5 time at ROLLOVER PASS.First time i was fishing on the WINNIE side(bay side),catching some small flounder ,but i see on another side people catching more flounder(some keeper to) and red fish.Around 4:30pm i have moving on another side(because some fishermans living) catching many small flounder,1 keeper and loose on keeper close to landing net.
Next fishing i was fishing on the ferry side(bay side),catching 2 keepers, many small flounder, many sand trout,7 croaker and one red fish 40inch(C&R).
Last tuesday(25 October)fishing on the same side i was catching over 15 small flounder and 5 keepers.
Is better to go early to find place if not you don't find place!!!!
For this reason i don't like to fish on weekend because i can be at ROLLOVER PASS early just after 9am.(2 hours drive from Huston).
I was fishing on the bank just with artificials.
