I am trying to convert over to more spinning tackle and I am looking at purchasing a Symetre.
I can't decide between the 4000 or the 2500. Is it better to get the 4000 for the extra line capacity and ability to make long casts? Or is the 2500 more than enough.
Main uses would be for farm ponds and D-shot/finesse at lakes.
Which rods are better - the fast or moderate/fast ?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

2500 is lighter & holds plenty of line. Rods would depend on which presentation you'll use it for.
Ask the guys at the store to let you put the reel on the rod, that'll help you get a much better idea of which feels the best and balances out for you.

Hello,
Could someone tell me where I can find parts to rebuild an old Shimano CI-200 which I believe is a Citica, It was just given to me. I t has a broke casting button its froze open and will not click, Since its pretty old I thought I'd rebuild it or overhaul it if possible.

I have both reels I use them both on medium heavy Falcon spinning rods. I use the 2500 for DS, light cranks and wakcy worms. I use the 4000 for TR worms, stick baits, flukes, small cranks. The 4000 feels a little more sturdy when you have big fish on. The 2500 holds a little less line but plenty for DS and ponds.

thanks cobraman
It's pretty difficult to choose between them. Might have to get both! What pound test do you use on each of them?

On the 2500 I use 8-10 (can go down to 6lb) lb yosuri and I use 10-12lb (can go down to 8lb) yosuri on the 4000. I guess the thing to do is try both on the rod that you will be using and see which feels more balanced. The 4000 might be too much for a light action, 6 foot finesse rod for example. Won't hurt to get a feel for both. The bigger spool will require more line, so you will be spending more on line if you do not need that big spool. I have taken in a 6lber on the 2500 this summer. Good Luck.

I compared them at Academy yesterday and the 4000 seemed to be more my size. I guess one day I will end up getting both.
What do you think would be the ideal type rod for the 4000?
